How Much Can You Charge for Your Subscription Site

October 24th, 2008 Posted in Blog

A subscription site can be a great resource to the subscriber and especially the owner running the show. The level of success one achieves is largely based on how much they charge for the service. Regardless of the subject, a subscription website should be priced in a way that makes the customer feel as if they are getting a great value for their money. At the same time, the owner needs to be able to profit from their unique service.

The best way to determine your price is to come up with a profit formula. Lets say your goal is 50,000 Pounds the first year. To meet it, you would need 5000 people willing and ready to pay 10 Pounds a year. You could also achieve the same goal with 1000 people at 50 pounds.

More important, when pricing your subscription plan, always weigh your topic against the fee as it should compensate for the content you’re offering. If it’s something that can be easily found on Google, then you may be wasting your time. If your service offers something unique and beneficial, the price you’re asking for could be reasonable and result in success.
