Rookie Bloggers Can Teach You Something

November 7th, 2008 Posted in Blog

Even if your blog has been going strong for a while, there is always something to be learned from new bloggers. Positive or negative, you should take a little time to sit back and observe the rookies, just as they have sat back and learned from the pros.

Why They Do It

When observing a new blogger, you can pretty much tell immediately whether they’re out to establish a readership or simply make money. This could be indicated by an abundance of ads that heavily outweigh the blog content. Even if your overall goal is to bring in some money, you can learn what not to do, by watching an over-aggressive beginner.

While some fail miserably, there are a few rookie bloggers that have their goals in sight and work hard to achieve them. Instead of pushing products and services, they’re out networking – trading links, posting comments and gaining more exposure for their blog. If you have something to sell and can generate traffic first, the money will come.

Continuous Education

Most new bloggers start off reading more than they write; the same reason why you should read other blogs, even if you think you’ve already mastered the Blogosphere.
