Starting A Blog Is Easy

Starting your own blog is easier than you might think, but it does take some thought too so prepare to get creative. And of course, have fun building your blog!
1) Setting the theme is very important, as this will determine just how big your audience is. What I mean by theme is this: are you going to stick to one issue in particular or write about whatever interests you on that particular day? Single-issue blogs tend to create a more loyal readership, and the better the content the stronger your fan base will be. Blogs on whimsy, however, are easier to write but tend not to create the base single-issue blogs do.
2) What service will you use? There are numerous options to choose from, ranging from Blogger.com and LiveJournal.com to Xanga.com and TypePad.com. Sites like Blogger.com and LiveJournal.com are free, however even the ones that charge a very small fee offer 30-to 60-day free trials.
3) Setting up the blog is easier than it sounds. Don’t be intimidated by this process, as it is often the easiest part of becoming a blogger. You’ll have to decide what your color scheme and general layout will be. Find a picture to upload to your blog too.
4) The first post is very important. But take baby steps if you need to. Stick to what you know. It’s important to develop a pace, a momentum if you will, as you get the hang of the process. This introductory post should include a statement as to why you’ve started this blog in the first place.
Good luck and happy writing!
