We have had several enquires as to the licensing of Your Members and how we support the various levels and have compiled this small FAQ on both Licensing and the License Server/Activation.

Licensing of Your Members
What types of licensing is there?
We offer a very simple two tier license system for Your Members, Single or Developer. A Single license is for one site, so it can be used on example.com or help.example.com but not both. A developer install is valid on unlimited host and domains.
I have a single two web sites which I want to use YM for?
You can purchase multiple single license please be aware each purchase will need to be on separate accounts. Alternatively you can make a single developer purchase which allows unlimited installs.
I wish to resale YM sites, develop a turnkey business?
You will need to purchase a Developers License. You may Not resale or rebrand Your Members and all copyright must remain intact on all files, you may not resale Your Members as a standalone product but include it as part of a service or turnkey business. The license remains in your name and is your responsibility, you must clearly indicate that the software is your license and that at termination of agreement with you the license is revoked.

I have a Single License can I edit the code?
Yes but you cannot edit the files in the classes folder, however you may make other changes though unless directed to by a member of Cambridge New Media Service team these changes would not be supported. If you have a Developer License you can edit any file you want.
Is Wordpress Free?
Wordpress is released under the GPL and while some trademarks are associated with Automatic the original Wordpress Developers anyone is free to download and modify Wordpress. Your Members is a plugin built on top of the Wordpress platform and is covered by its own license
Your Members Activation
I’m A single user and have moved domains and my license doesn’t work?
You will need to contact sales@venture-skills.co.uk with your old domain and new one and we will transfer it.
I’m a single user and haven’t moved domains but have reinstalled and it doesn’t work?
Make sure you are putting in the correct email and that you are using the exact same host common examples are using example.com instead of www.example.com with the system treating them as different hosts. If that doesn’t solve the problem contact sales@venture-skills.co.uk and we will clear your table entry allowing activation for you.
I am a developer user and am receiving unable to activate?
Please check you are using the correct email if you are still having problems email the YM developer support email or sales@venture-skills.co.uk and we will work out what is wrong.
Your Members Support and Upgrades
When is a patch not a patch?
When it is an upgrade, All minor bug fixes and security updates are considered patches, major upgrades or a host of new features that significantly change YM are considered upgrades.
What is a security upgrade?
Security upgrades are patches which are vital to protect your Install of Your Members, as such we roll such patches out separately and make it available to all versions that are effected.
I am a single license holder and wish to upgrade to a developer License?
A rebate for the value of your single license is available, please make the developer license purchase then email sales@venture-skills.co.uk with the Paypal transaction ID for both single and developer licenses. Your rebate will be of the total value of the single license purchase (normally $50) and occurs in the form of a paypal partial refund. Please note we can only offer the rebate for the first 30 days after purchasing a developer license.
I am a dev user and need priority support?
Your welcome email contained the support address this email address goes directly to the developers please use it responsibly if they are answering emails they are not writing code.
